Are you a programmer and familiar with the AA software? If not, I wouldn't be so sure of making the statement that it would be "minimal effort" to make the change. Having said that, I do not have any real knowledge of the software and effort involved but do know a lot about legacy software systems and things just arent that easy. That is why I am guessing AA is far behind, it isnt that easy with their systems. To your original point, yes, they are lazy....and cheap.
