Second time this happened to me in the same circumstances. I requested an upgrade to c+ at booking. Received middle seat upgrade at 72 hour window. So I moved myself back to Main at that time. Then at check in, it asks me if I want to request any c+ or window or aisle.

I do not see why they couldn't just implement this at booking.
