When the company you work for doesn't have any common sense, everybody suffers.

If this were me, I would read the travel policy carefully and as long as there is nothing in there to snag you, do as you please.

I am no showing a DL and VS flight within the next 7 days, because it suits me. I have a mileage ticket booked instead which was way easier than changing the original I had.
