Iberia Plus Avios can be much better than BA Avios for certain itineraries on AA -- especially when connecting flights are required, or when the total flown distance is small.

Compare the two programs for LGA-DCA-LGA, for example; or ITH-PHL-BDA-PHL-ITH.
