Most likely the cause is you told VS about lap infant. Domestic US doesn't require a ticket for lap infant. During checkin it simply asks if you have one and adds it to the ticketed passengers BP. If you told VS then they've most likely added the baby as a passrnger in their own right on the reservation . In future for domestic US tickets do not mention the lap infant untill checkin.
