Given that the AMEX Canada transfer ratio to Asia Miles is 1000:750, that makes J 86,667 miles and F 133,334. So J slightly cheaper with Asia and F cheaper with Avios. Taxes are slightly cheaper with Asia miles (~$50).
If you want to fly with your family, then your best bet is probably J. How many passengers? You can read up on the Asia Miles website regarding stopover rules for roundtrip travel...
I'm confused with Avios they have "Peak" booking times or is that only for BA? I am leaning towards J.
What's usually the taxes for Avios? Aisa Miles Tax is around $50!?! Damn everytime I use Aeroplan to fly AC/LH from YYZ-FRA I had to pay about $1,000!
Family of 3, thanks, will surely do. What do you guys think about booking PY and upgrading to J? Looks like this is possible for both Avios and Asia Miles. Would this be a better chance to get three J seat vs fully booking with points or it doesn't matter.

The thing about CX (especially using Avios) is that they've really cut premium cabin award availability.
How would I be able to utilize NH Mileage Club with AMEX MR? Via Aeroplan? I'm still currently with Aeroplan but have been getting rid of my points due to AC/AP splitting.
Oh that sucks so would be very difficult to get 3 seats, if all goes well I plan to book it at least 8 months ahead maybe even 12, provided they open it 364 days.
