The situation is especially bad around early-December to late-January when many flights easily get 3-4 hours delay due to havoc caused by dense fog across North India, which includes Delhi. Now November is also bad due to air pollution around Delhi (last year United cancelled EWR flight for several days just because of this).

Long story short, flight delays are common and airports are not efficient where simple task like going through immigration + security check could easily take more than an hour. Adding to extreme weather conditions things can get even worse. Make sure to have plenty of time for lay-over at Indian airports.
I thought I put enought time between my flights... however, your post makes me a little nervous. My plan is as follows:
  • 28.10.2018, 09:35 am: Landing in DEL with Air India, coming from CDG
  • 28.10.2018, 13:30 pm: Flight from DEL to AMD with IndiGO
  • 28.10.2018, 15:15 pm: Landing in AMD
  • 28.10.2018, 23:05 pm: Depart from AMD with SQ
Not planning on doing anything in India, maybe, if everything is on time, a little stroll outside AMD airport. (BTW: any suggestions?)
