Sorry to hear about the inconvenience, but I find this hilarious because they wouldn't let me match my two accounts last year for a similar reason: my SPG account name had my middle initial in it but my Marriott one didn't.
But yes, as suggested, just call one of them and get the profile name changed to match. it was quite painless.
