I used to have no problem doing that back when I was flying in my early days.
These folks have a hard time understanding that the world might have been different before they were born.
Such as, Y was quite pricey, but they fed you very decently. And flying transat was quite a big deal, when no one in the neighborhood had ever set foot on a plane.
