I've taken both Uber and a taxi. The taxi drivers take credit cards. It's easy, especially with a late-arriving flight when you just want to get to the hotel and sleep.
Do note that Uber is no longer available in Singapore as they have sold their business to Grab (Uber equivalent that is dominant in SEA).
