The answer might depend on the particular date of travel or time of day.
You can certainly check prices on the route now for tomorrow or another day this week.
Note that Amtrak service from EWR is not nearly as frequent as NJ Transit service to Trenton, where a SEPTA connection to Philadelphia would be available.
And, of course, if your LON-EWR flight were
substantially delayed due to factors within the airline's control, you'd be entitled to 600 GBP for your trouble, which could offset the cost of changing your Amtrak ticket.
