Let's hope that this experience is mostly a temporary matter of poor IT during the transition, where perhaps the hotel didn't have your Plat status registered on your file after the conversion, and maybe poor communication to hotel staff what the new Accor benefits are supposed to be. If it's a permanent degradation of service levels, then that would be an unfortunate realization of my earlier fears. I can accept a few kinks during the first week after the transition, but it's not a good sign so far.
As for the lounge access not given, that's as it should be. Fairmont Gold was never and still is not, a benefit of Plat status. As discussed on other threads, the protection of the Fairmont Gold product is something I'm personally happy about. The lounges don't need to be overrun by additional guests not staying in a Gold room.
