I really want to make sure that these are lay-flat/'suite' style seats, and not just First Class in name only (i.e. extra legroom), otherwise I will go with JetBlue. As such, can anyone advise whether American Airlines uses their A321T plane on this route or not?

Rule #1 : never, ever trust SeatGuru

AA does not offer the A321T with flat-bed seats on the SFO-BOS route. It will be standard domestic first class, i.e. wider recliner seats with more legroom than economy.
