Agreed. My wife worked in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity for a Financial Firm. I was fascinated by the contingencies and procedures in place if facilities were unavailable. While much was SEC mandated, it seems that a hotel would expect theses things will occur and have a plan in place to mitigate.
You don’t do disaster recovery (DR) without first conducting a business impact analysis (BIA) to determine your recovery time objective (RTO). If the hotel has an RTO of 24 hours, you wouldn’t get moved until it’s been that long an outage of water.
