The Spanish surname thing of paternal and maternal names has long been an issue on Iberia for names where it’s just the single surname. If that’s their get out it’s very shabby.
It's probably more of an issue with the browser's autocomplete than with their website (bad as it is). I have the opposite problem with American webpages where, if I'm not careful, my first surname gets repeated as a middle name.
