This is the second or third thread recently about a utility going out a a hotel. While I realize this is usually beyond the hotel's control, what is unbelievable is that hotels do not have an existing plan on what to do when this predictable situation occurs. You would think there would be a script for whoever is there and a plan where maybe guests can be told where to go if they need something immediately and be given realistic expectations about what will happen if the outage is not fixed in in three hours, six hours, by eight o'clock, etc, It just seems that hotels are not responding as well as they should.
Agreed. My wife worked in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity for a Financial Firm. I was fascinated by the contingencies and procedures in place if facilities were unavailable. While much was SEC mandated, it seems that a hotel would expect theses things will occur and have a plan in place to mitigate.
