Most hiking packs will state their size in liters. A 65L pack will typically rise over your shoulders, so those are easy to spot.

I have taken on an 80L & even 90L Kelty hiking backpack to my surprise (but not lately).

If you google Kelty Redwing 50 and Kelty Red Cloud, you will clearly see its easy to spot.
I’ve never carried on my 65L Osprey because it seemed like the frame would make it difficult to get in the bin easily. Maybe I should rethink that.
