On occassion trains from NY to points further in PA are cheaper. I have found on occassion that a NY to Lancaster train was cheaper than a NY to Philadelhpia train and would just get off in Philadelphia. I don't know if this still holds true or not, but do check it out if you have a morning flight out of PHL.
