How is it legal to not refund taxes and facility fees on nonrefundable fares?
Since this is a UA ticket posted in this forum, altho it clearly applies to other US airlines.

If I buy a nonrefundable ticket I understand that the ticket fee is not refundable - BUT - if I cancel it I am paying taxes on a "product" I never received (the travel) AND I am paying "facilities" fees on facilities I never used.

Is this really legal?
