According to LH.com D-AIDV arrived late from MAD this morning and parked at A28. There is no way you can board a flight to a non-Schengen destination from A28. (It is possible if between A13-25 as there are Z gates above A gates if they decide to use them.)
Regarding the lounge option what is your status? There is an Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge which is better than any LH business lounge. Also there is a Senator Lounge if you are eligible.
No status (yet). I'm flying Business though.

I rebooked myself about a week ago. Cost me about 150 bucks (I needed to be in EDI for a meeting at 13:00, so the direct flight would havearrived at 13:45, hence a little bit late. (but with better meal service). The new flight would arrive at 12:00 sharp, routed over FRA.)
The price tag is also there because I asked to have both flights booked into D (Z was still open), so I would also earn 8000 miles. (Half of that if I remained in Z) (So I would reach *G this year), There would have been no miles on the direct flight as it is operated by EDW. (I credit into SAS Eurobonus).
With the current (unvoluntary) rebooking I will arrive at 17:25, so exactly 5 hours and 25 minutes later than my original booking. Hence eligable for compensation
