Frustrating, but it happens - and sadly FRA is not really the most connection-friendly airport around, possibly amongst the worst, especially if your inbound is late and you need to run to a gate which could be 'miles' away. That said, B33 is a bus gate as far as I remember so, whilst the 321 operating EDI may have been parked next to 'you', technically you would've still had to endure the usual 'FRA bus tour' starting indeed from B33 so, no, you haven't done anything wrong there. Unless you had a vital meeting on the other end, I would just try to chill out and put it down as 'experience', without throwing the (quoting your post) sense of life into the mix
