So today I was sheduled to fly LH from ZRH to FRA and onwards to EDI. I had a connection time of 1 hour and 40 minutes. The drama started with the plane already arriving 40 minutes late in ZRH and sheduled boarding time was pushed from 07:45 to 8:15 to 8:50 to 9:30. The gate agent had no idea what was going on, apparently there were fuel weight and overbooking issues. Finally without a warning boarding started just so we could wait until 10:00 to take off. At that point I was already pretty nervous about my connection with it’s boarding beggining in FRA at 10:35. We arrived at FRA at around 10:50 and I was told to run to my connecting gate B33 (I arrived in A), next to us I noticed this nice retro livery A321(this will be important). Having run my lun gs out I arrived at B33 at 11:15, gate closed, Flight not even marked anymore. The gate agent apologized and rebooked me on the next flight five hours later and suggested I spend some time in the lounge. At the lounge we looked if there were earlier possibilities to no result and I was given the food voucher.
Now I just checked FR24 just to see my FRA-EDI flght being pushed back (11:40). And guess what: It’s operated by the retro livery A321 we parked next to... How did that happen? The gate was clearly marked as B33 and not anything in A! What did I do wrong? Is the boarding gate really in B while the plane is in A? Would there have been a faster way? Is there a better Business lounge than the one at B28? What is the sense of life?
And what's even worse is that I have to spend the time in the filthy LH B lounge, which is such a downgrade compared to the new Swiss Business Lounge I enjoyed this morning!
Ahhh! Much frustration, many angry, very rant!
At least I get some money back.
