I know that Hilton has 2 hours minimum for lounge happy hours as a brand standard (and any GM who tries to override it is going to get into trouble).
There seems to be some internal confusion between the staff as I've spent a little while trying to figure out what the HH situation is. When I was in the lounge last night around 7, the beer/wine was available but the food wasn't even though I thought it was. It came out around 8 and we were told as an exception, it would be available until 9 PM and that from tomorrow [today], alcohol would be available between the evening meal service which will be from 6:30 to 7:30 PM going forward.

Got back to the hotel around 5:15 PM today and checked with the reception about happy hour and she said that beer/wine should be available all day... but then double-checked with her manager who told me that a new rule was just implemented where it'll only be available between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. I stopped by the lounge on the way up and told the attendant I'd stop by around 6:30 for the service and then she told me that today, alcohol will be available from 7 PM to 8 PM but from tomorrow, it'll go on the 6:30-7:30 PM schedule.

Needless to say, I'm confused.

Sadly, with those kind of people anything other than physical violence (or enforceable threats from someone in uniform) is not likely to have the slightest effect on them. Appealing to someone's better nature is a losing strategy when the person you're appealing to has none. I think we all have similar stories to relate when it comes to no-class types in lounges, etc.
True words and oh yeah, no sh**s given yesterday whatsoever - the guy and his female company clearly gave no care about what they were doing; when someone in the lounge told him "if you can afford staying here then you can clearly afford a bottle of wine without taking it from everyone in the lounge," he stared her dead in the eye, shrugged and held the door open to allow his lady friend out before promptly slamming the door. Yikes. Tried reporting it to the staff in the reception who told me that that kind of behavior is forbidden, but even though there are cameras all over the hallways I doubt anyone will do anything about it.

Will report back re the oddball evening hours today.
