So the evening meal/drinks service is now restricted to just 60 minutes? Even though it's commonly referred to as 'happy hour' making it literally one hour seems to be a bit much. Are there other places where happy hour is only 60 minutes? I know that Hilton has 2 hours minimum for lounge happy hours as a brand standard (and any GM who tries to override it is going to get into trouble).

Yes. The kind of people who do that clearly don't give a s***, so it's not surprising that they just shrugged it off and walked out. And I'd bet they'd be happy to do the exact same thing next day, regardless of how much opprobrium it elicited. Sadly, with those kind of people anything other than physical violence (or enforceable threats from someone in uniform) is not likely to have the slightest effect on them. Appealing to someone's better nature is a losing strategy when the person you're appealing to has none. I think we all have similar stories to relate when it comes to no-class types in lounges, etc.
