Well I made it, kind of. The inbound SQ flight was delayed by 56 mins turning a 1:45 connection to 49 mins.
I went to the 24h TWOV and when she realized the connection was soon, called someone over who escorted me to international connections. They called AA who said I missed PEK-DFW, it was now about 30 mins to scheduled departure so I guess that's why. I asked to change to the LAX flight and they said yes but not now because they're trying to get my original flight buttoned up!
The next 15 mins were nerve wracking but the staff was great. The AA folks called back and said they moved me and that the connections staff should give me a boarding pass. They hand wrote one on CA stock.
Then I was escorted through security and onto an airside bus which took me to T2. This seems to be an established option now as I saw signs. (I'll post the pic I took later.) Certainly is a lot better than TWOV + landside bus/train.
I made it onto the new AA flight with time to spare. I'll get home a few hours later than booked, but all in all it went pretty well.
