Basic Economy - Is it worth it if I'm not picky about my seat?
Looking at taking a same day roundtrip from Spokane to Seattle (GEG-SEA-GEG). The Basic Economy fare is $69 each way, and $15 more each way to "upgrade" to Main Cabin. I would be traveling alone and only with a small bag that fits under the seat, so I don't need seats together or access to the overhead bins. Also, these flights use E175 aircraft with 2-2 seating, so there are no middle seats. I would be fine with any aisle or window seat for the short, 1 hour flight. In my situation, is there a reason to pay extra for Main Cabin, other than seat selection? I know that there are no changes allowed with BE, but wouldn't change fees eat up the entire ticket value anyway?
