Here now. Some feedback:

• A couple of service mishaps [i.e. I tried to arrange an airport pickup, communicated with three hotel associates across two departments via e-mail over it and naturally there was a miscommunication down the line so although I received a confirmation, no one was at the airport; a call to the hotel, a series of apologies and them covering my cab was great service recovery], but the staff are lovely and very professional.
• Although I made my reservation through my SPG account, my number wasn't on file at check-in and I wasn't upgraded [I'm sharing a room with a friend, who arrived a few hours before I did so that could've had something to do with it?], but they apologized at check-in and got it back on file. Plat benefits include complimentary breakfast in the main restaurant, access to the club lounge on the seventh floor and a complimentary 25-minute back massage at the spa.
• My colleague is also a Plat and he got upgraded from a Classic Room to a Junior Suite, so that should be indicative of general Plat upgrades.
• The lounge is nice but as mentioned in places online, it's frequently unmanned and I had to run down to the reception to ask for an attendant. As a result, used plates/glasses tend to pile up and food doesn't get replenished. There was some confusion over dinner times, but apparently they're going to be from 6:30 to 7:30 PM as of tomorrow. Wine and beer are available during the evening meal and are available on a self-serve basis.
• Side note: because some people are absolutely awful, two guests took an entire, unopened bottle of white wine out of the fridge and walked out of the lounge with it. Some other guests vocalized their displeasure at them but they shrugged and just walked out with it anyway.

Nice hotel, staff are great and this is a very good SPG option. Let's see what the Sheraton Novi Sad holds in a few days...
