Good call, and if they are indeed *Gold any questions related to the economy leg to FCO are moot. They will have access to the SEN lounges at FRA as *Gold. No need to go landside for this (the arrivals lounge is landside). The SEN lounges (or at least some of them) also have showers if so desired.
