GetSetJetSet - For country collectors, Brunei Darussalam is an absolute must. I think the hotel of choice is The Empire, a mega-resort to rival the equivalent in Abu Dhabi, the Emirates Palace. I didn't stay at The Empire but I toured the place - it's made of gold and marble, like Nero's palace. I think Brunei is still a dry country, hence the paucity of tourists. There are definitely things to see - take a boat trip around the stilted community Kampong Ayer, there is an incredible mosque, a nature reserve with wonderful birdlife and proboscis monkeys, and ogle the Sultan's palace which I thought resembled an airport terminal building. Don't forget to clock up Kalimantan when you are on the island of Borneo.
