I agree and have noted this on many searches over the last 72 hours or so. (Multicity, round trip and one way).

Flight selection page clearly states "New. All taxes now included" (or something similar) but then there's a nasty little surprise waiting on the final payment page.

No doubt this is a punishable offense with some federal body so I hope United will fix it soon.
