Recently returned from a week at the Hilton Malta. During booking only Queen beds available at the beginning of June for our dates. Upon check in, I requested a King bed and walk in shower if possible. Were given room 515 which was an end corner room on the same floor as the reception so no elevators needed to get to room. Think this was a disabled room as it had the two red emergency pull cords in the shower and toilet area. However it was a very nice good size room with balcony overlooking the sea and marina. I would take this room again. As Diamond, we were given access to the Exec Lounge on the 9th floor and complimentary breakfast. Exec Lounge offerings during Happy hour were from 6 to 8pm and included wine, spirits, beer and prosecco, but we were disappointed with the food offerings. Breakfast in the restaurant had a great choice. The hotel itself was great. Lovely reception area in marble overlooking the restaurant. The outdoor pool areas were vast. Four pools and two small children's pools. Never any shortage of sun beds or parasols. Liked that you just press the button on the parasol for pool service! There was a Thai restaurant in the hotel, but most nights we ate out in the adjacent area of St Juliens. The hotel seems to cater for big conferences and also weddings, but this just means that the pools are even quieter when these conferences are on. Much better for leisure guests. A few small problems on the day of check out have now been resolved by management and we look forward to returning to this gem in the Mediterranean. Taxi to/from the airport cost 21/20 euros and took about 20 mins. Taxi to Valetta cost 20 euros and only took about 15 mins. Bus service was available and only cost 1.5 euros.
