If you have a flight leaving ORD at 5:45a, then technically you can access the Flaghip Lounge the day before the flight, IF you could get airside access.

The "before 6am the following day" clause in lounge access rules is really meant for late night flights that depart after midnight. For example, say your're flying LAX-HKG departing at 1:30am, if that clause wasn't in the rules then lounge eligible passengers technically wouldn't have access to a lounge until the calendar day of departure, i.e. midnight, even if they arrived at the airport at 10 or 11pm or whatever, which is technically the day before the qualifying flight.
