There are a bunch of LCC's in Prague (something like 10 now) so you might be able to get a cheap flight that way as well.
You can also get a non-stop rail connection taking about 7 hours during the day or 8.5 hours on an overnight connection.
I stayed in Prague with the boyfriend for a few days and we had a ton of fun just going around the city. We didn't really do too much of the gay-specific stuff so I can't give comments there, but I really liked the Time Out book for Prague (and they have one for Budapest as well). The Prague just had a new revision come out, so it should be pretty up to date.
