OP here sitting in 1K after scoring a CW to First upgrade coming home from Barbados. Was a cheap as chips super sale fare which I used avios to upgrade from WTP to Club and then got the magic beep whilst boarding.

The flight did not look that busy on Expert Flyer with 9 empty seats in Club and 3 in First but something must have happened as both cabin are filled to the brim.

I had already turned down 1K at check in as my wife would have been left in club ( or more likely me ) so was surprised that we were both handed new boarding passes at gate.

To further enhance my pleasure we are connecting out of LHR tomorrow and I expect that I now should be allowed into the CCR there on the back of this.

My second CW to First upgrade in the 3 years since I started this thread.

oh and free wifi too...
