Maybe I am being overly cautious, but I saw that some countries require a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you have been in Kenya. We will be going to the Maldives 6 weeks later and I saw on the WHO site and also IAMAT that if you are in airside transit for less than 12 hours in Kenya, you don't need this certificate to enter the Maldives, but if not, you do. I agree an airport hotel would be much better if there is nowhere to lay down (other than the floor) airside. Just would be devastated if we were turned away from the Maldives, we have 3 weeks planned over Christmas.
Aha I see. I have a YF certificate so tend to overlook this. I think on balance I would rather be vaccinated than spend 9 hours in JKIA.
