I don't really see what "millenials" have to do with any of this and I find such comments to smack of out-of-touch "old man yells at cloud" thinking.
e.g. "millenials are supposed to stay at moxy" is a bafflingly weird statement.
Every hotel company, and every other company in the consumer space, in the last 5-10 years has tried to identify what "millennials" want and created whole brands to try to cater to them, and even changed their offerings in legacy brands. You always see the same buzz words: collaborative areas, less need for personal space, lower price points because they value different things, "hip" decor, a more informal style of service.
I am not a marketing expert, but I assume that these pursuits are based partially on real research and partially on ephemeral trends. I am also guilty of being an out-of-touch "old man yells at cloud," but questioning their stated strategy and saying it doesn't work for me (nor, apparently, for lots of other seasoned, high-spending travelers) is one of the purposes of FlyerTalk, isn't it?
