If you want a buy a fare that allows you to use your Gold Guest Upgrades, when you are searching for flights, just choose the MVP Gold Guest radio button on the left side under Upgrade fare type. Then choose a flight from the First Class Upgrade column in the search results. That will ensure you get a fare class that is GGU eligible.
