Hilton is using the phrasing "plans to convert the Mandarin Oriental on the Las Vegas Strip to the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas in August 2018." Which I'd assume means "Bookable as a Waldorf in August", but may mean "we're still converting it and it won't be open yet." But MGM seemingly messed up their rebranding of the Monte Carlo nearby, losing a ton of revenue during a long shutdown/conversion... and people at Waldorf should be well aware of that danger.
I looked for bookable dates all the all the way out to January 2019, and the property doesn't even show up yet. (Which is totally understandable.)
Looking forward to it though. Ive always wanted to stay at the Cosmo or Aria and check the views out from that side of the strip but find myself pointslutting at the Trop, Elara, or Flamingo HGV.
