Definitely wouldn't call it an upgrade in the normal sense however got an email from BA this evening that on opening made me fear the worst but turned out quite nice in the end.

Have a flight from LGW-SVQ in CE in a couple weeks. When booking the nearest I could get a pair together was 4 A-C( out of 5 rows). Went to manage my booking and found we'd been moved to 2 A-C which was full( along with most the other rows being booked as 1s or taken up completely). Mrs CLAM and myself are short cutting to Silver in the space of 5.5 months with this being flight #2 so as lowly Blues I can't see that our CIV would've gotten us a bump up( especially as it would've meant moving other pax who'd booked before we had) so will put it down to other PAX canx their booking and us getting lucky but after my initial fears were allayed I was quite pleasantly surprised.

SIDE NOTE: If you're reading this and it was yourself who was booked onto the BA2798 on 08-07 and had to canx then I'm sorry, hope it wasn't for too bad a reason & that you get to enjoy Seville soon on a different date. The lady is most happy and we'll make good use of the seats.
