To answer question about the problem with the voucher, I get an error message when I enter it as instructed in "Promotions" field on the web site. Saying it's invalid or some such.
[edited to add error message on web site. Obviously I've changed the voucher detail but left the format in case that helps anyone know what type of voucher it is]
  • Sorry, AA1AAAA1A1A is not recognised or is not currently valid. Please check and try again.
Have called in and been bounced around, being told anything from "we'll look into it and get back to you" (that was the last call - they didn't get back to me" to "it can only be done online, we can't do anything for you" to "call customer relations but they don't work weekends."

Full text of apology email below:
Dear Customer,

As promised, due to your recent poor experience with us, please find below a goodwill voucher for £300 off, per person, on a future flight with us.

Voucher Code: -------------

This voucher can be used on any British Airways flight, in any cabin. The discount is per person, for up to 9 people on the same booking. Travel is valid from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018 and your booking must be made by 30 June 2018.

To use the voucher, please visit ba.com using this specific link and select the flights you wish to purchase. On the final price page, before entering passenger information, enter the code into the ‘promotion code’ box and the discount will be deducted per person on your booking.

You are still able to submit an expenses claim for items such as hotel accommodation, food, ground transport, delayed baggage or telephone costs while you were delayed. Please find full details of what you are able to claim for and how to make a claim on ba.com.

Once again, I apologise for your recent experience with us and sincerely hope you accept this gesture.

Warm regards,

Saroj Sodi

Head of Service
The voucher code is an alphanumeric sort. Several agents on phone have said they have never dealt with anything other than a 125- code that is basically a credit looking like a ticket number, and apologise that they can't help me but can only hand off to another team.
