Is your award ticket on 105-stock or 081-stock (QF)? If it's on 081-stock, then you are out of the coverage of the rules Mwenenzi posted and AY won't check your bag through.
Anyway there's no protection against delays on the first flight. Although 1 hour is more than enough for an intra-Schengen transfer in HEL, there's not much buffer for a delay on the first flight.
