Southwest recently tested allowing companions to board with the companion pass holder. One hopes they'll enact it as policy soon. Because it makes sense.
If it becomes policy will you still be against it?
No why would I be? Maybe if they only allowed that for A+ members i wouldn't be thrilled, but would also understand why they are doing that. I change my companion occasionally to my father and there are times where I fly with him and I get a better boarding position than he does, so would be nice to board together. But it isn't life threatening if we don't.
