For a few months now I have the following problem: although my MM details are correctly recorded, I am unable to select any preferred/status seats for free (as I should be entitled to under the program rules) on LX long-haul flights. The problem exists irrespective of whether I try and do this through the app or the normal website. If I choose seats that are free for status pax and cannot be bought, the system simply refuses to allocate them (advising me that they are for status pax only), and in the case of the for-purchase single seats it asks me to pay for them. I think this issue goes back many years. Probably to when online seat selection was introduced. Some even claim the issue was there even before the airline was.

So far I have not heard of a single person who was able to actually reserve them online. I think the usual statement was: We are working on it.
