I feel really bad for the OP. The level of negativity on this forum can sometimes be toxic. The whole J experience is amazing, even on AC, when you are used to travelling in economy. Several posters on this board are hostile or at best indifferent towards AC and will take every occasion to spill their venom. Is AC the bestest most extraordinary travel experience in the world? Of course not. But it is still pretty darn good and well worth enjoying when taking your GF on a holiday in Europe. Context is key in everything. When you are travelling in J on a weekly basis on OPM, of course you start being nit-picky but that is not what this thread is about.

YVRPPL, I still remember my first few TATL business-class flights. I couldn't sleep most of the way because I was excited to be so lucky to be in this big lie-flat seat while sipping some bubbly. I am sure you and your girlfriend will remember this trip forever. So, I suggest you enjoy the priority everything - check-in, security, boarding, immigration lane, sit back once you are on-board and just forget the nasty posts above. Enjoy the pre-departure drink, which may or not be champagne, have a cocktail after take-off, maybe try the new Signature cocktail if you feel so inclined, or just a nice G&T. Enjoy your meal, it will be pretty good when you are used to the crap they serve in economy class. Try out a few different wines, there will be several to choose from so don't hesitate to ask to taste before settling on one. Enjoy the cheese course and the port wine. And then save some room for dessert, I hear the new sugar tart is quite good. Then try to sleep for a couple of hours. If you are awake in the middle of the night, head up to the galley to find the snack basket - chips, granola bars, fruits, Lindt and Kit-Kat will be available. If not hungry, just grab something and save it for later. I always ask not to be woken for breakfast but usually end up waking up anyway when the crew starts serving it anyway. Ask for a cappucino or an espresso, they can make those on-board and are pretty decent. While you are at it, have a mimosa, that is always a good way to start you day.

Premium rouge will be quite acceptable for a day flight. Much less choice of food or drink, but the crews are typically young and enthusiastic. I have done the BCN-YUL flight a few times and always enjoyed it.

There are several threads on this board about the Signature Suite, the Signature class service, and Premium rouge but I wouldn't bother going through all of it. Again, a lot of posts are contaminated with negativity and indifference. I suggest you go in with an open mind and enjoy all that is offered.

I hope you and your girlfriend have an amazing trip!
