Here's another DP: I have been trying to get an Citi / AAdvantage Platinum card with the contactless feature, to no avail. Years ago, I used to get renewal cards with the separate contactless "sticker" (which was actually as thick as a credit card, so not as useful as it sounds), but then at some point those stopped coming. And, the one time I tried to use it for London Underground, it didn't work (per mia's experience above). Fast forward to this year, when I'm trying to get a version of the card with the EMV chip and contactless. I'm running into the same thing that jbarm had: speak to CS, they claim they know what I'm talking about and how to order it, but when the replacement card arrives, it has no contactless. Each time, they spent time with me on hold, conferring with a help desk. Now that I've found this thread, I think that either such a card does not exist, or as someone already suggested, the process for ordering it is just broken.
Is Amex the only US issuer with a Contact/Contactless chip card?
That's the irony: I know that Citi issues such a card in the US, as I know someone that has one and saw it in person just last week. But it's not an AAdvantage Platinum, and is some other Citi product.
Very frustrating.
