We recently made a booking LHR to SEA in CW returning from LAS in WTP next year for what I thought was a respectable price considering we have only ever travelled long haul in economy. I was able to upgrade the return leg to CW at the time of booking and have been checking regularly for availability to F on the outbound leg. Today I see 2 seats in F on the date we fly.

​​​​​​At the moment due to our impending wedding we are cash poor and miles poor (pretty much just enough between us for the updrade) .

We have already paid almost £200 to reserve seats in the 747 Upper deck for the outbound and I am hesitant to upgrade if we can't get this back. So does anyone know what my chances are? And is it worth using all our miles to go F instead of CW on the upper deck?

For what it's worth I had earmarked our remaining pot for a 'cheap ' summer holiday next year.
