Yes, this is new. I have a reservation for August that I booked a while back and it did not have the fee on it. I know because I am very aware of the cost as I'm one of those that books refundable and often looks for (and finds) lower rates. The 9.50 was not there, and it is now.

I've seen baloney resort fees at other hotels that include some of the Ambassador perks, but this fee name is new to me. Not only that, included wifi is a regular IHG Rewards Club benefit. And they always gave you the crap 10% off the restaurant anyway. Too much the extra fees the airlines are cleaning up on. Not much you can do but book elsewhere I suppose.

A couple of times a hotel has tried to charge this on a reward night, but I've always (up to now?) been able to get them to waive it.
