As such, in addition to filing a claim, immediately file a complaint. Or better yet figure out the TSA point of inspection and get ahold the FSA and contact them directly. My local TSA contact has been a great asset in those regards.
This is interesting, I'll try to find out who the FSAs are for GUM and CMH, those are my most frequent two points of departure when going back to Japan. Guam has been much less problematic though than the actual States.

I have had them attempt to follow up from a CMH incident, so certainly a photo of the inspector would narrow it down real quick and I'd have a timestamp to point them to the exact point in the CCTV. Certainly doing nothing other than coming home and complaining to myself will result in no change. Persistent complaints to TSA and knowing who to point the blame at, while the chance may be small, it could possibly result in a change in behavior. Intentionally removing all forms of protection I've added is unacceptable, pure and simple.
