I think people are using the word "sterile" differently.
YYZ is supposed to be a quick passport kiosk for international to international. I have yet to experience this.
YVR has the same process.
In both cases, you don't go through security, and the passport check is done by a machine, so I guess that's what is being referred to as "sterile".
