I am consistently amazed at the great service that Asian airlines offer on these short haul flights. I recently took a HKG-BKK-HKG flight on CX and the food was better than trans con flights in the US. The movie selections on CX were much more limited however than on this SQ flight however.
Asian airlines like CX and and SQ offer this kind of service and meals, because this two are the top airlines in the world, majority of other "asian" airlines do not offer anything but a drink, not even peanuts, like JL and NH.
